Central Library


Introduction

Gurugram University, Gurugram is a State Government University came into existence as an autonomous body in 2017 by Haryana Act 17 of 2017. The magnificent library building - a blend of functional structure, elegance and exquisiteness - is centrally located within easy reach of all the Departments/Institutes/Directorates, hostels and residential areas. The Central Library is located prominently in the University Campus having adequate space (215 sq.mtr.), furniture like Reading chairs, tables, display racks, magazine racks etc. Library building is centrally Air Conditioned.

The Central Library supports the general and specific information requirements of the users whereas the department libraries cater to only specific subject needs of the users, both for study and research. It has advanced its web activity with the subscription of high quality electronic resources being made available through campus-widenetwork to the teachers, students and research scholars. A separate Reference Section is established in the library.

Online public access catalogue is the representation of library’s collection of learning resources. Library material is live on online AIMS Portal for accession to its users. Library has Wi-Fi facility, 10 computer systems and two photocopiers are available in the library. Acquisition of books is operated by manual form and as well as computerised form. The work of online issue and return is performed at AIMS Portal. The Library-cum-Identity Cards also generated on the software magic card 360.

The main thrust of the Library is to continue to improve the quality of services and facilities, achieve high degree of users’ satisfaction and endeavour to facilitate right information to the right user, at the right time.
