About Department

The Physics Department of the Gurugram University was established in 2020 with the intake of 20 students to start with and the intake was increased to 40 students from session2021-2022.The department has implemented the scheme and syllabus as per NEP 2020 for M.Sc. (Physics) effective from session 2022-23.

Presently the department is offering specialization in Condensed Matter Physics and MaterialScience and planning to start specialization in Electronics and Nuclear Physics as well. Department of Physics has two labs, Lab –I (Basic Physics Lab) and Lab-II (Optics Lab) which are equipped with quality equipment’s equivalent to National reputed institutes like NITs and IITs related to M.Sc. course experiments. Setting up of Advanced Physics Lab and Material Science lab is under process in the next phase.

In the short time span department has conducted quiz contest, poster presentation, a hands on workshop on Vacuum Science and Technology, extension lectures by eminent Professors from various university and research institute. The department is monitoring students for NET/JRF Coaching which results to group studies for competition exam. Few students have qualified NET exam in current session June 2022.

About Management Alumni Cell

An alumni association or alumnae association is an association of graduates and post graduates or more probably the former students. This cell was established in 2022 in Gurugram university. The main objective served by this cell are:

  • To foster the spirit to brotherhood and companionship amongst the alumni of the Commerce and the students in the department, Gurugram University.
  • To arrange social and cultural functions.
  • To support financially poor and the needy students for their higher studies.
  • To help the students of the department of Commerce and the University in training and placement
  • To furnish the interests of the Commerce department, and Gurugram University, in general.
  • To provide a forum for the alumni of the University for exchange of ideasand views on educational, cultural, social and academic matters.
