Message from Dean

I am delighted to welcome you all to the Department of Law and Humanities. As the Dean of this faculty, I have the distinct honour of overseeing three diverse departments- Department of Media Studies, Department of Law and Department of Indian & Foreign Languages. Each of these departments is committed to cultivate responsible, informed and skilled professionals who are equipped to excel in their chosen fields and make meaningful contribution to the society.

The Department of Media Studies focuses on preparing students to navigate the ever-evolving media landscape by offering courses that explore various aspects of mass communication, film making and corporate communication. We have designed a curriculum that imparts the recent revolutionary changes in the field of media and higher education. The new curriculum, which fulfils the needs of NEP and LOCF, aims to rebuild the department, that focuses on nurturing theory, skill-based and value-added courses. It aims to enhance the knowledge and creativity in students at the intersections of diverse areas of media such as news, entertainment, PR, filmmaking and media literacy. In addition to that, it also aims to impart knowledge in other areas such as culture, moral values, ethics, and life management. Our department has established studio and multimedia animation lab, 'Srijan'. It marks yet another change for the enhancement and development of the department.

Newer perspectives are experienced, fresh insights are gained and a renewed sense of understanding is developed through different langauges and literature. Department of Indian and Foreign Languages has an all-encompassing impact on its students. In a department with enthusiastic and dedicated faculty members, I am confident that the young and passionate learners will not only develop and hone their literary interests, insights in English Literature but also in foreign languages like German and Japanese.

Department of Law has an intensive educational excellence and classroom deliberations by faculties having educational qualifications from the best National and International Universities. In order to mould the budding professionals of tomorrow the institution provides hi- tech classrooms with audio visual- based orientations. Apart from its regular academic courses the institution has organized various educational seminars, moot court competitions, lectures and symposiums with the motive of enhancing knowledge and awareness of students and its faculties. Department of Law promotes holistic studies in law in the form of short-term courses, field works, experiential learning in addition to regular under graduate course. Post graduate courses and research centre are already functional which will mature into doctrinal courses.
