About Department
The Department of Physics at Gurugram University was established in 2020. Since its inception, the department has achieved significant growth and recognition under the visionary leadership of the founding members of the university. It has emerged as one of the prominent departments among state universities.
Currently, the Department offers M.Sc. Physics and Ph.D. Physics programs. Additionally, it will launch a five-year Integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. Physics program starting from the academic session 2026–27. The physics curriculum has been aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and has been implemented from the session 2022–23.
The department presently offers specializations in Condensed Matter Physics, Material Science, Nuclear Physics, Radiation Physics, and Plasma Physics. The department has well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art instrumentation. The development of an Advanced Physics Lab and a Materials Science Lab is currently underway. The department comprises seven permanent faculty members, including three Associate Professors and four Assistant Professors, who bring diverse and rich research expertise.
