About Department
The Department of Media Studies of Gurugram University offers a range of courses to students with the aim to make them a dynamic and responsible media person of the future.It focuses on providing practical understanding of mass communication and media industry with a strong academic base. Our well-equipped media lab provides an opportunity to the students to work on their skills of news and film making. Department has an animation and editing lab along with theatre room and television studio where students learn studio technique, record interviews and make news bulletins.We frequently invite prominent journalists and media persons to interact with our students to give them a practical exposure of the media industry. Renowned and experienced media personalities like Sh. Paresh Mehta (Creative Director, India Today), Sh. Badal Rag (Vice President, Times of India), have visited and interacted with our students. The Department of Media Studies organised a National Media Dialogue which saw participation of eminent media personalities and academicians like Dr. Kamal Gupta (Honourable Minister, Govt. of Haryana), Sh. Atul Kothari (National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas), Sh. Ashok Shrivastava (Senior Consulting Editor and Anchor DD news), Sh. Rajkishor (Editor at large, ABP News) among others. The Department of Media Studies is providing the courses of MA in Mass Communication, MAMC integrated (5 year course) and BSc Animation and Multimedia.
